Toronto Beaches Engagement Shoot | Ali + Nasma eShoot

Today we’d like to share some engagement shoot pictures of Ali and Nasma’s. For their shoot we went to the Lakeshore area in Toronto.

Ali is a cricket buff and Nasma owns and operates a bakery (and loves cupcakes), so we obviously had to incorporate their secondary love of life into the eShoot. (Wait till you see the cakes these guys had at their wedding in a subsequent post). To achieve a different look, we did part of their shoot at night starting just before the last rays of sunset vanished. Enjoy!

Lakeshore Engagement Shoot | Farhan & Kanwal – eShoot Casual

If you’ve already checked out the Farhan and Kanwal’s formal engagement shoot near Lakeshore in Mississauga, here is the continuation of that engagement shoot. This was shot the same day, after a dress change at the same location at Port Credit.

Port Credit Engagement Shoot | Farhan & Kanwal – eShoot Formal

The shoot was supposed to be an hour long. They ended up shooting for three. After the shoot, walking towards the car, Meem turns to Aliph and says, “It’s on days like these that I love being a wedding photographer”.

Farhan had proposed to Kanwal near the lighthouse on Port Credit in Mississauga. Ever since then, the place had had a special meaning for the two of them. Obviously, when it came to choosing a location for their engagement shoot, there was no other choice. Even though the weather man said otherwise, and the clouds were less than friendly, despite suggesting other locations and backup plans, we knew that it would mean a lot of Farhan and Kanwal to have their engagement shoot at Port Credit. Consequently, we marched on, and the skies cleared up for the entire duration of the shoot.

We did a two part shoot for them with a dress change in the middle. We started off with some formal shots, and then did a casual shoot with some props.

Gatineau Park Old Chelsea Engagement Shoot | Kim & Dan

We did Kim and Daniel’s engagement shoot last fall in Gatineau Park and Old Chelsea area. Wandering around, taking pictures, we ended up in someone’s front yard and finding noone around to ask permissions from, starting taking pictures. Ten minutes later we turn around to find the owner and his dog staring at us. We were still red faced, contemplating running, when the owner asked us to follow him into the backyard. We thought some more and then followed him silently, the dog behind us. When we got to his backyard, he pointed straight out and said, “You won’t find this view of Gatineau Park from anywhere else” and went in his house. We relaxed and clicked away happily before bidding him adieu and heading deeper into the Gatineau Park. Here are some of our favourite shots from the e-shoot.

Ottawa Photographers | Plan Canada – Meet Rabia & Our First Letters

Back in December, we wrote about our first sponsor child Irfan. At the same time we also sponsored a girl, but the correspondance from Plan Canada about the girl got lost somewhere in the courier world. So we followed up by phone and Plan Canada sent us another information package about Rabia!

Rabia is 12 years old, lives in Pakistan with her parents and four other siblings. You can find out a little more about Rabia by reading the text in the following images.

To our very pleasant surprise, in today’s mail we received hand written letters from both Irfan and Rabia. Irfan had some help writing his letter because, according to the letter, his writing isn’t legible. However, Rabia wrote the letter by herself! We’re so proud of both of them! We can’t wait to write back.

Kanata Brookstreet Wedding Photography | Amit & Poonam – The Morning After

Last night we covered Amit and Poonam’s wedding reception at Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata. Of all the hotels in Ottawa and nearby, I think this one is probably our absolute favourite so far in terms of its decor, location and surrounding area. Tons of locations in and around the hotel make for some great shots. If you’re getting married in Ottawa, and don’t mind looking out a bit west for your venue, definitely check out Brookstreet Hotel for your wedding.
